Where to go for the weekend from Bratislava?

Recreation and tourism in Slovakia is quite diverse. In the old and hospitable capital – Bratislava, there are many palaces, churches, museums and memorial sites with stunning architecture. An impressive old center with two squares and winding streets. And outside the city, you can visit farms, vineyards, farmland and tiny cozy villages. Nitra

A small town on seven hills, 80 km from Bratislava. An ancient city with many historical sites such as:

  • Nitra castle located on a rock and majestically towering over the city;
  • Nitra Golgotha, this is one of the seven hills with picturesque places. At the top of the hill there are three crosses and a chapel of the Holy Sepulcher with a tower. Pilgrims regularly hike here, but the place is also attractive for ordinary tourists.

Brno

The old, second largest city in the Czech Republic, the capital of the Moravian region. Here is one of the largest karst massifs in Europe, a nature reserve – the Moravian Kras. Here you can see the amazing beauty of the underworld: karst grottoes, Macocha abyss and raft down the underground river.

The city is home to the ancient Spielberg Castle, which is located on the top of the mountain of the same name.

Senec

A small sunny town in the southern part of the country. It gained popularity due to its mild climate and beautiful lake, created by nature from five small lakes. The complex, formerly called “Slovak Tahiti”, is now called the Solar Lakes. All conditions have been created here for adult recreation and recreation with children.

Lednice

Place located very close to Brno, where the borders of three countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia) meet. It houses the medieval Gothic Lednice castle, which is part of a grand castle and park complex.

Vienna
